About Barakah Business Expo

Barakah Business Expo is the ultimate gathering for ambitious Muslim entrepreneurs — a place to make meaningful business connections, connect with leaders from across the globe, and learn top-level marketing, automation, and AI strategies.

We bring together 1000+ entrepreneurs, industry thought leaders, investors, and top media companies in one powerful event built on faith, freedom, and business growth.

Our mission is to educate, inspire, and move people to take action through high-impact sessions, live demonstrations, and actionable insights that transform how you operate and grow.

Video is one of the most important ways we communicate our mission, values, stories, and ideas at scale.

The Role

As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for turning raw footage into engaging, emotional, and high-retention videos.

This role goes beyond cutting clips together. You are a storyteller. Your job is to take real moments, lessons, ideas, and business education content and turn them into videos people want to watch until the end.

You will work on YouTube videos, reels, shorts, course clips, promotional videos, and social media content.

The ideal editor understands pacing, hooks, emotion, retention, captions, sound design, and visual storytelling.

What You'll Do

  • Edit high-quality YouTube videos from raw footage
  • Edit short-form reels, shorts, and TikTok-style clips
  • Turn educational content into engaging visual stories
  • Improve pacing, hooks, captions, music, and retention
  • Add clean subtitles, b-roll, sound design, and motion graphics where needed
  • Work with the content team to manage multiple video projects
  • Follow brand standards and keep visual consistency
  • Take feedback and improve edits quickly
  • Help create content that educates, inspires, and converts
  • Bring new creative ideas to improve our content quality

The Ideal Candidate

  • You think like a storyteller, not just an editor
  • You understand YouTube retention and short-form hooks
  • You have strong experience editing content for social media
  • You are skilled in Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or After Effects
  • You understand captions, pacing, sound design, and clean cuts
  • You can make educational videos feel interesting and emotional
  • You can edit Somali and/or English content, or you are willing to adapt
  • You communicate clearly and update the team without being chased
  • You are reliable with deadlines
  • You care about quality and details
  • You can take feedback without becoming defensive
  • You want to grow with a serious media and education brand

Requirements

  • Proven experience editing YouTube videos or short-form content
  • Strong portfolio with real examples
  • Ability to edit fast without sacrificing quality
  • Good understanding of storytelling and video structure
  • Comfortable working remotely
  • Strong internet connection
  • Good written communication
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently
  • Willingness to complete a paid test edit if selected

Coaching and Development

You will receive clear feedback, creative direction, and examples of the editing style we want to build.

This role is designed for someone who wants to improve their storytelling, editing speed, creative judgment, and understanding of social media content.

High performers will receive more responsibility, long-term opportunities, and the chance to grow with the brand as the content operation expands.

You Shouldn't Apply If

  • You only want a normal 9–5 job
  • You need to be chased to finish work
  • You cannot handle feedback
  • You are married to your ideas and refuse creative direction
  • You miss deadlines without communication
  • You only know how to cut clips but don't understand storytelling
  • You are not serious about improving your craft
  • You make excuses instead of solving problems
